Inland Lake Classification Project
The Inland Lakes Classification Project is an effort lead by the Institute for Fisheries Research and researchers at Michigan State University to develop an ecological classification framework for the 65,000+ inland lakes in Michigan. To support this work, it is imperative to integrate comprehensive, spatially explicit information describing inland lakes and their fisheries.
MDNR River Assessments
A wide variety of spatial and tabular data exists for the State of Michigan's aquatic resources and fisheries. River Assessments are written by Michigan Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Division staff to inventory and characterize these riverine systems, biological communities, and their unique characteristics. From this information, management options are created and which the public may comment on. Management plans, implementing these options, follow.
