GLINDA-Disseminated Data on the Internet (01/2007)

In partnership with the Great Lakes Commission, a subset of Great Lakes GIS project data are being served on-line through GLINDA (Great Lakes Information Network Data Access). GLINDA is a suite of open source tools and applications intended to aggregare and disseminate geospatial data sets for the Great Lakes region. These data are available through the Great Lakes Information Network (GLIN) in a variety of formats and themes.

Introducing the Fish Spawning Atlas ArcIMS (05/2006)

Through a partnership with the U.S. Geological Survey Great Lakes Science Center, the Great Lakes GIS Project developed an ArcIMS (Internet Map Server) that is now available for public consumption. The ArcIMS features the Goodyear et al. Fish Spawning Atlas. Users can investigate spawning locations of important Great Lakes fish with respect to fish stocking locations, bathymetry, substrate, and fish movement patterns (inferred from fisheries catch rates). The ArcIMS is part of a larger initiative, called the Great Lakes Ecosystems Information Node (GLEIN), which aims to be a gateway to biological data for the Great Lakes region.
